Mehar began with a simple observation: Muslim women were being asked to choose between dressing modestly and dressing well. In 1997, in Palakkad, Kerala, we set out to prove that was a false choice.
Nearly three decades later, that first hijab has become a full house of Islamic attire — abayas, hijabs, khimars, niqabs, prayer dresses, and everything a woman needs to feel both covered and confident.
We don't source. We make.
Most modest-wear brands online buy finished garments and put a label on them. We don't.
Every Mehar piece is made in our own 13,500 sq ft facility, on 95 imported machines, by a team who have been with us for years. From the first drawing to the final fold, a garment passes through ten hands:
Order → Drawing → Cloth → Measurement → Cutting → Stitching → Master Touch → Steaming → Quality Check → Packing
That is why our sizing stays consistent, our fabric behaves the way you expect, and a Mehar abaya still drapes properly after a year of wear. Controlling the factory is the only way to control the quality.
